GILLETT — This will be Todd Carlson’s last year as superintendent of the Gillett School District.

After an executive session during its Nov. 25 meeting, the Gillett School Board voted to accept Carlson’s resignation, effective June 30, 2020. The motion passed unanimously.

Carlson has been administrator at Gillett since September 2013, when he was hired to replace Kyle Ransom. He had been superintendent at Shawano for five years before that.

Previously he had been employed by the Suring School District for 19 years, working up to high school principal and then school superintendent for five years.

The timing of his announcement gives the board seven months to find and hire a successor.
