Dairyland League Highlights (July 21)

Nichols 3

Cecil 2

Nichols edged Cecil in a July 16 battle in Nichols.

Mason Pautz earned the win on the hill for Nichols, striking out eight batters in a complete game effort. Jake DeBruin led the team at the plate with four hits and three RBIs.

Noah Beilfuss was tagged with the loss after pitching five innings, while Andrew Schroeder tossed three innings for Cecil. Beilfuss drove in a run on three hits at the plate.

Hofa Park 10

Navarino 0 (7 inn.)

Hofa Park eased past Navarino in a July 16 clash in Hofa Park. The Panthers used a seven-run fourth inning to pull away.

Trevor Cornell drove in three runs to power Hofa Park at the plate. Brinton Anderson drove in a pair, while Mason Dorn had three hits. Mason Dorn and Peyton Dorn scored twice each.

Robert Schuettpelz was the winning pitcher, scattering three hits and a walk over seven innings.

Waupaca 3

Hortonville 0

Waupaca knocked off Hortonville in a battle of the top two teams in the league on July 16 in Waupaca.

Brenden Canterbury drove in two runs for Waupaca, while Luke Behm had two hits and scored twice. Cam Seidl was the winning pitcher after striking out 10 batters over six frames. Jack Eagan worked the final three innings.

Colan Treml was dealt the loss on the mound for Hortonville. Chris Atwood worked four scoreless innings in relief of Treml.

Shawano 12

Pulaski 5

Shawano picked up a road win over Pulaski on July 16.

Chase Henning homered among his two hits and drove in four runs for Shawano. Kasey Kristof added three RBIs on two hits and scored two runs. Warner Beyer scored twice for the Lobos.

Brandon Bushy pitched 3⅔ innings for Shawano, while Bryce Popp worked the other 5⅓ innings, striking out five and not allowing a run.

Nick Dagneau took the loss on the hill for Pulaski. Cody Pangrazzi and Jarrett Olson drove in two runs each at the plate.
