Dairyland Highlights (Aug. 4)
Bonduel 3
Hofa Park 2 (11 inn.)
Bonduel rallied past Hofa Park in extra innings on July 30 in Hofa Park. Adam Frost belted a solo home run to lead off the 11th and give the Broncos the lead.
Bonduel tied the game in the ninth when Frost scored on an error. Frost finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Eric Gruenwald also had two hits.
Chase Reinke earned the win after tossing four scoreless innings. J.C. Reinke worked two scoreless frames in relief of starter Jack Reinke, who started and pitched the first five innings.
Robert Schuettpelz took the loss after pitching all 11 innings for Hofa Park. Ethan Volz, Trevor Cornell and Preston Hutchins tallied two hits each, while Cornell also drove in two runs.
Hortonville 7
Nichols 5
Hortonville topped Nichols in a July 29 contest in Hortonville.
Ty Dreier drove in four runs on two hits for Hortonville. Kyle Stuewer and Cage Kavanagh also had two hits each. Mason Thiel got the win on the mound, while Ethan Peters, Mark Watson, Luke Watson and Scott Gorsuch all worked in relief.
Sam Blank homered and drove in three runs for Nichols.
Waupaca 8
Shawano 2
Waupaca took down Shawano in a July 30 matchup in Waupaca.
Johnny Popham drove in four runs on four hits to power Waupaca at the plate. Luke Behm added three hits.
Jack Eagan was the winning pitcher, striking out 16 batters over six frames. Jake Pankratz and Behm worked in relief.
Chase Henning homered and drove in a pair of runs. Ashton Henning was the losing pitcher.
Cecil 5
Navarino 1
Cecil toppled Navarino on July 30 in Cecil.
Garrett Engel and Jake Sager led Cecil with two hits each. Engel drove in a pair of runs.
Andrew Schroeder got the win on the mound, allowing an unearned run over seven innings. Tucker Bouche got the save after pitching the final two innings.
Pat Wudtke scored Navarino’s lone run. James Muchie was the losing pitcher.
Hortonville 10
Pulaski 0 (8 inn.)
Hortonville eased past Pulaski in a July 30 contest in Pulaski.
Drew McDermid was dealt the loss for Pulaski, which tallied five hits at the plate. Jarrett Olson recorded three of the team’s hits.
