Dairyland, BABA playoff schedules set

The Dairyland League and Badger Amateur Baseball Association each begin postseason play on Aug. 14, and schedules are now set for each league.
All playoff games will be played at 1:30 p.m.

The Waupaca Lakemen won the Dairyland regular season title with a 13-1 record and are the No. 1 seeds. The Lakemen will host Hofa Park after the Panthers went 3-11 and finished eighth.

Hortonville took second in the regular season with a 10-4 record, but will actually play on the road in the playoffs because of renovations being made on its home field. The Stars will head to Nichols to take on the seventh-seeded Nitros after they went 4-10 this summer.

The third-seeded Bonduel Broncos (10-4) will host the sixth-seeded Cecil Mudhens (4-10), while the fourth-seeded Pulaski Reds (9-5) square off against the Shawano Lobos (8-6).

The Navarino Rangers missed the playoffs after posting a 2-12 record.

The Little Falls Loggers turned in the best record in the BABA this summer, going 12-0 to win the West Division and earn a No. 1 seed. Little Falls will host the fourth-seeded Tilleda White Sox after they finished 3-10.

The West Division’s other semifinal game features the second-seeded Tigerton Tigers (10-2) and the third-seeded Caroline Cougars (7-6). The game will be played in Tigerton.

The Leopolis Bulldogs (1-12) missed the postseason.

The Neopit Chiefs claimed the No. 1 seed in the East Division after going 9-4. Neopit will host the the fourth-seeded Marion Meisters after they finished 5-8.

Clintonville also went 9-4 on the season and got the No. 2 seed. The A’s will host the third-seeded Gresham Gophers (8-5).

The Shawano Lakers (0-13) did not qualify for the playoffs.

The Aniwa Orioles got the No. 1 seed in the Northern Division after going 8-4. Aniwa hosts the fourth-seeded Elderon WhiskeyJacks (7-5) in the first round of the playoffs.

The other division semifinal pits the second-seeded Eland Engineers (8-4) against the Antigo/Polar Bears (8-4) in Eland.

The Hatley Braves (5-7), Birnamwood Kings (5-7) and Wittenberg Pilots (1-11) all missed the playoffs.

The Scandinavia Vikings rolled to a South Central Division title this summer with an 11-1 record. Top-seeded Scandinavia will host the fourth-seeded Green Lake Anglers (3-9) in the first round of the playoffs.

The second-seeded New London Irish (8-4) will host the third-seeded Plover Pterodactyls (5-7) in the other semifinal game.

The Weymont White Bass (3-9) missed out on the playoffs.
