College Highlights (Sept. 30)

UW-Eau Claire

Bonduel High School graduates Isaac Garside and Parker Bohm each played for the UW-Eau Claire football team in its loss to Albion on Sept. 24.

Garside had a big game, hauling in four passes for 84 yards and carrying the ball four times for 21 yards. He also returned two kickoffs for 36 yards and two punts for 21 yards.

Bohm was the team’s long snapper on three extra point attempts.

Pulaski graduate Vanessa Grunwald played in both of the UW-Eau Claire women’s soccer games last week.

She attempted a shot in the team’s 1-1 tie with St. Catherine on Sept. 20 and then helped the team to a 2-0 win over Bethel on Sept. 22.

Ripon College

Gillett grad Angela Mosconi earned a 20th-place finish while running for the Ripon College women’s cross-country team at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invitational on Sept. 24.

Mosconi completed the 6,000-meter course in 25 minutes, 28.8 seconds.

University of Minnesota Duluth

Pulaski grad Logan Kobus punted three times in the Minnesota Duluth football team’s close loss to Sioux Falls on Sept. 24.

His three punts traveled a combined 130 yards, with a long of 46. One of the punts pinned Sioux Falls inside its own 20-yard line.

Concordia-St. Paul

Pulaski graduate Andrew Egnarski had a strong game despite the Concordia-St. Paul football team losing to Wayne State on Sept. 24.

Egnarski was credited with six total tackles, with four solos and two assists. One of the tackles resulted in a 3-yard loss.

UW-Whitewater

Bonduel grad Jessie LaBerge turned in a score of 180 to tie for 23rd place while golfing for the UW-Whitewater women’s team during the UW-Whitewater Fall Invite on Sept. 23-24.

LaBerge fired rounds of 90 on each day of the invite.

Carroll University

Pulaski graduate Jake Binkowski finished with five total tackles and two interceptions for the Carroll football team in its loss to Illinois Wesleyan on Sept. 24.

He returned the two interceptions for a combined 39 yards. Binkowski returned one pick for a 36-yard touchdown.

Binkowski had four solo tackles and one assisted tackle.

Oconto Falls graduate Emmie Magnin played in three matches for the Carroll volleyball team last week.

She posted a dig and attack kill in the team’s win over Lawrence on Sept. 23. Magnin and Carroll later topped Hamline that day.

Magnin was credited with an attack kill in the team’s win over Luther on Sept. 24.

University of Dubuque

Gillett grad Riley Engebretsen placed 70th for the University of Dubuque men’s cross-country team at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invitational on Sept. 24.

He turned in a time of 31:23.5 on the 8,000-meter course.

UW-La Crosse

Pulaski grad Maggie Hernandez played in a pair of 4-0 wins for the UW-La Crosse women’s soccer team last week.

In a win over St. Scholastica on Sept. 20, Hernandez played 33 minutes and had one shot. She was credited with a shot on goal in 33 minutes played against St. Norbert on Sept. 25.

UW-Stevens Point

Bonduel graduate Cooper Uelmen turned in a score of 173 while golfing for the UW-Stevens Point men’s team at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational on Sept. 18-19.

Uelmen had a score of 86 on the first day before a 77 on day two. He tied for 77th place.

Minnesota State University Moorhead

Pulaski grad Jocelin Feutz recorded a dig and block assist in the Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team’s loss to Concordia St. Paul on Sept. 24.

For the season, Feutz has posted five attack kills, eight block assists, one solo block, four digs and one assist across 11 sets played.

Wisconsin Lutheran College

Pulaski graduate Connor Heezen played in two singles and two doubles matches for the Wisconsin Lutheran College men’s team last week.

Heezen and partner Matt Bass lost 8-2 in a No. 3 doubles match against North Central on Sept. 25. Heezen also played at No. 5 singles against North Central, falling 6-2, 6-0.

Heezen and Bass lost 8-3 in a No. 3 doubles match against St. Francis on Sept. 25. Heezen fell 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 in a No. 5 singles match against St. Francis.
