Finger makes all-conference team
Clintonville High School graduate and UW-Superior junior Tyler Finger made the second team all-conference to help his team to a second-place finish in the conference championship on Saturday.
Finger finished 15th overall to earn the all-conference spot, completing the course at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior in 28 minutes, 19.2 seconds.
Finger was also the team’s representative for the UMAC Sportsmanship Award.
Minniecheske caps strong freshman season with Ripon
Tigerton graduate Monika Minniecheske earned lots of valuable experience during her freshman season on the Ripon women’s volleyball team.
Minniecheske accumulated 142 attack kills on the season, the fourth-most on the team. She also had 20 total blocks.
Ripon compiled a 6-19 record this fall, but ended the season on a three-match winning streak.
In the team’s season-ending win over Marian on Saturday, Minniecheske had 11 attack kills.
Green racks up top finishes
Shawano graduate Jeffrey Green placed in the top three of each event he swam in to help the St. Norbert men’s swim team to a 164-24 dual win over St. Mary’s University on Friday.
Green won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.51 seconds. He came in third in the 100 freestyle (53.27).
Green helped the 200 freestyle relay team to a first-place finish in 1:32.17.
