College Highlights (Feb. 20)

Winona State

Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School graduate Maddy Pietz took part in a pair of events for the Winona State women’s track and field team at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Challenge on Feb. 15 in Mankato, Minnesota.

Pietz finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.77 seconds. That finish earned her team four points.

Pietz also placed 19th in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 4.5 inches.

Northland College

Bowler graduate Jodi Wolf played in her first collegiate softball games for Northland College at the Finlandia University Dome Tournament on Feb. 15-16 in Marquette, Michigan.

In the team’s 11-9 loss to Finlandia on Feb. 16, Wolf drew a walk and drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.

Wolf pitched an inning later that day in a 10-0 loss to UW-Stevens Point. She struck out two batters while surrendering two runs.

Northland College went 0-4 at the tournament.

UW-River Falls

Bowler graduate Allison Stewart ran in two events for the UW-River Falls women’s track and field team at the St. Thomas Showcase on Feb. 14 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Stewart took 15th in the 60 dash with a time of 8.31 seconds. She was 19th in the 200 (27.88).
