Cheryl E. Koehler

Cheryl E. “Cheri” Koehler, 74, of Shawano, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 18, 2020, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano.

Cheri was born April 23, 1946, in Shawano, a daughter of the late Edwin and Gladys (Enk) Koehler. She attended school in Shawano, graduating in 1964. Following high school, she worked at the Shawano Hospital. Cheri earned her licensed practical nurse certification from Northwestern Technical Institute in 1972, and worked as a surgical nurse at the hospital until retiring on Dec. 12, 2004. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano, as well as Shawano AARP. She loved nature and the great outdoors.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Gail Koehler, of Wittenberg; nephews, Todd (Ana) Koehler, of Green Bay, and Brent Koehler, of Wausau; niece, Dilynn (Tom) Koehler-Nowak, of Wausau; great-nephew, Zach (Jess) Koehler; great-niece, Kaileah Koehler; and great-great-nieces, Kynslei and Kaedence Koehler.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Koehler; and niece, Lychelle Koehler.

A graveside service for Cheryl was held on Friday, May 22, 2020, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Pastor Lew Worthington officiated. A brief visitation was held on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano, with social distancing guidelines being followed.
