Bonduel volleyball on winning track early
Bonduel volleyball coach Abby Reinke has her team on the winning track in the opening stages of the 2023 season.
At the Oconto Invite on Aug. 22, the Bears went 4-0 with victories over Mishicot, Valders, Oconto and Menominee Indian.
Bonduel went 2-0 against Mishicot, 25-21 and 25-16.
Hailee Thompson had 16 assists, three aces and eight digs. Audrey Weier had eight kills and nine digs. Josie Anvelink had four kills and seven digs.
It was another 2-0 win over Valders, 25-14 and 25-18.
Thompson had 12 assists and four kills. Weier had four kills and five digs. Tatum Sporisky had eight digs, and Gracyn Wudtke had two aces.
The Bears topped Oconto 2-0 on games of 25-11 and 25-23.
Thompson had 17 assists, while Weier had nine kills and eight digs. Anvelink had six kills and 12 digs, and Juliana Jacobs had four kills.
Bonduel also beat Menominee Indian 2-0 on scores of 25-10 and 25-20.
Thompson had 19 assists, and Weier had eight kills. Anvelink had four kills. Sporisky and Jacobs each had three kills.
Menominee Indian beat Oconto 2-0. Game scores were 25-1 and 25-22.
Bowler Triangular
Bowler topped Almond-Bancroft in three very close games to take a 3-0 win Aug. 22. Scores were 25-23, 25-20 and 25-23.
Bettina Dodge and Ava Paiser each had four service aces.
Isabella Stevens had seven kills, 10 digs, one block and one assist. Dodge added six kills, eight digs and a block. Natalie Rickert had 16 assists, four blocks, four kills and four digs.
Paiser added seven assists, four digs and three kills. Anna Dassie notched seven digs, an assist and two kills.
Wilmot Invite
At the Wilmot Invite on Aug. 26, the Bonduel Bears went 4-2.
After first losing 2-0 to St. Mary Catholic, the Bears went on a tear, winning 2-0 against Green Bay West, Omro and Wautoma twice, before again losing 2-0 to the St. Mary Catholic team from Neenah.
