Bonduel announces winter sports award winners

BONDUEL — Bonduel High School was unable to hold its awards banquet for the winter sports season because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The school released the award winners for wrestling and boys and girls basketball.

Wrestling

The Bonduel wrestling team enjoyed another strong season on the mats, with three wrestlers ending their season competing at the state tournament. Those three athletes — Jayson Toellner, Max Sokolski and Isaac Banker — all were named Most Valuable Wrestlers.

Sokolski and Banker also earned captain awards.

Kaden Bergsbaken was tabbed the Most Improved Wrestler, while Alex Garside was honored with the Coach’s Award.

Girls basketball

The girls basketball team finished second in the Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division and reached a sectional semifinal at the end of the season.

Kara Troxel and Allaina Robaidek were each named MVPs, along with earning captain honors.

Brenna Hertzfeldt was given the Most Improved Player honor, while Hayley Wolf earned the Coach’s Award.

Boys basketball

The boys basketball team enjoyed several special memories on the court during the 2019-20 season.

Cole Letter was at the center of one of the top moments, when he reached the 1,000-point mark for his high school career. Letter was the team’s MVP and also earned the Coach’s Award.

Justin Bahr and Dylan Burch were each tabbed Mr. Rebounder, while Carson Robaidek was named Mr. Defense.
