Bernice A. Montoure

Bernice Ann Montoure, 78, of Wittenberg, formerly of Tilleda, passed away in Wittenberg on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Bernice was born Nov. 3, 1942, to the late Benjamin and Eva (Hoppe) Kraft in Tilleda. She was a registered nurse and worked at multiple hospitals, including Shawano Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Bellin Hospital and St. Vincent’s Hospital. She lived most of her life in Shawano and in Seymour. She later retired in 2004 while in Seymour and moved to Antigo.

Bernice was formerly a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda, and later became a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Antigo. She assisted in teaching Sunday school and confirmation classes. Bernice loved sewing as well as painting with watercolors and oils.

Bernice is survived by her children, Bonnie (Wendell) Lee, of Hawaii, and Glenn (Grace) Montoure, of Suring; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Leslie Kraft and Rev. Kathleen “Kathy” Kraft.

A graveside service for Bernice will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Tilleda with the Rev. Lois Graper officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Homme Home in Wittenberg and Rosalia Gardens in Antigo.
