Benjamin J. “Ben” Taylor, 31, of Shawano, was called away too soon on Friday morning, Jan. 7, 2022.

Ben was born Dec. 29, 1990, in Shawano, a son of John and Sarah (Tripp) Taylor. He attended elementary and middle school in Gresham then transferred to Shawano schools, graduating from Shawano Community High School with the Class of 2009. After high school, Ben joined the U.S. Army, serving for four years. He was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, and worked with Apache helicopters in the Air Calvary.

On Feb. 14, 2011, Ben was united in marriage to Eileen Taylor in Shawano. He was employed as a machine operator at Creative Converting in Clintonville. Ben was a gifted mechanic, earning the nickname “Tinker.” He loved video games and exploring the unknown. He was a guardian and protector of others, always lending a hand to those in need.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Taylor, of Shawano; three beautiful children, Lillian, Vincent, and Leonidas; his parents, John and Sarah Taylor, of Shawano; his brother, Jeremy (Emily) Taylor, of Appleton; his sister, Kristin Taylor, of Shawano; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Glenn Taylor, of Oshkosh; four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law; his best friend, Jordon Whetstone; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A time to gather, remember, and celebrate the life of Benjamin Taylor will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, from noon to 2 p.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano, with a prayer service at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials for an education fund for Ben’s children would be appreciated.
