Port Edwards 50, Marion/Tigerton 22

Port Edwards started scoring in the first quarter and didn’t let up until the final buzzer as they put a damper on Marion/Tigerton’s homecoming with a 50-22 win.

Port Edwards was up 34-0 before Braylon Mielke scored on a 2-yard run to make the score 34-8 at halftime.

Then, down 42-8 in the third quarter, Mielke scored again, this time on a 48-yard run. That was followed by a 23-yard touchdown pass from Joey Zimdars to Logan Zietlow to make it 42-22.

WIAA approves lacrosse realignment fast track

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association board of control approved a limited number of action items, and received customary executive staff and liaison reports at its September meeting.

A conference realignment fast track recommendation that merges the Fox River Classic and Fox River Valley Conference for lacrosse was approved.

5 to be inducted into Shawano Athletic Hall of Fame

Shawano Community High School will induct five new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 11.

The five inductees are Jim Judd (1964), Dan Schutt (1984), Brian Johnson (1986), Tami Felts-Tady (2000) and Harlan Martin (coach).

The induction ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the high school commons. A social will be held at Luigi’s in Shawano following the induction. The public is invited to attend.

Pulaski tennis team 1 win short of victory

Sheboygan North 4, Pulaski 3

Pulaski’s No. 2 doubles team took their Sheboygan North opponents to three sets, and the No. 3 duo lost in a second set tiebreaker, and winning either of them would have given the Red Raiders the victory in the meet.

Instead, Sheboygan North won 4-3.

Winning for Pulaski were Ruth Krause at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0; Isabella Skalecki at No. 3 singles 6-3, 6-1; and Anna Krause at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0.

The No. 2 singles player, Aubrie Schluessler, lost 6-2, 6-3.

Sheboygan North 5, Pulaski 0

The Golden Raiders took down the Red Raiders 5-0 in a matchup of state-ranked teams.

Sheboygan North (ranked 10th in Division 1) got two goals late in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into half.

The Golden Raiders stretched the lead in the second half with goals in the 51st, 59th and 69th minutes.

Pulaski (ranked 10th in Division 2) couldn’t find an answer as their five-game unbeaten streak against North came to an end.

Pulaski golfers take sixth at conference championship

Fox River Classic Conference Championship

Pulaski golfers placed sixth out of seven teams at Wander Spring Golf Course in Greenleaf.

The Red Raiders scored a 404. Bay Port won with a 337.

Scoring for Pulaski were Charlie Lasecki with 96, Grace Melzer with 99, Taylor Murphy with 104 and Ella Trewartha with 105. Morgan Schuh also had a 109.

Tigerton volleyball loses 3 close games

Port Edwards 3, Tigerton 0

Tigerton hosted Port Edwards and lost in three sets with scores of 23-25, 24-26, and 22-25.

Presley Stewart-Rolfs had eight kills, with Aaliyah Lederhaus getting four, and Danika and Sienna Breaker with three each. Tiller led the team with 14 assists.

Jade Selle and Angel Welch had 15 digs each. Lederhaus had 13, and Tiller had 12.

Stewart-Rolfs recorded one block kill.

Bonduel, Gresham, Marion win volleyball matches

Sept. 24

Bonduel 3, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 0

Bonduel won in three sets over Wittenberg-Birnamwood 25-17, 25-15 and 25-11.

Audrey Weier led Bonduel with 16 kills. Juliana Jacobs and Audrey Jacobs each chipped in seven kills. Josie Anvelink led the team in digs and aces with 17 digs and three aces. Paige Niquette had 20 assists and Jayla Reinke had 17 assists.

Bonduel is now 12-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference.

Pulaski’s Schultz and Holderness each score four soccer goals

Sept. 24

Pulaski 8, Green Bay Southwest 0

The Red Raiders rolled to an 8-0 win over the Trojans.

Pulaski got on the board early with a goal in the second minute from Hudson Schultz with an assist from Maddox McKeefry. The Red Raiders (9-1-2, 1-1) didn’t score again until the 30th minute but got three goals in a two-minute stretch, all from Donovan Holderness, to push the lead to 4-0. Hudson Schultz added a goal in the 37th minute to give Pulaski a 5-0 halftime advantage.
