Weyauwega-Fremont 0

Wittenberg-Birnamwood rolled to a sweep of Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division opponent Weyauwega-Fremont on Tuesday in Weyauwega. The Chargers won by scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-16.

Lilly Betry totaled 11 assists and five aces for Witt-Birn, while McKenna Foster had 13 digs. Payton Foster chipped in seven assists and Amara Schoepke had seven digs.

Bonduel 3

Shiocton 1

Bonduel rallied to take down Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division foe Shiocton on Monday in Bonduel. The Bears won by scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-21.

Bonduel's Allaina Robaidek finished with 18 assists and eight kills, while Josie Hoffman posted nine kills and four aces. Brenna Hertzfeldt provided six kills and four aces.

Athlete Profile: Kaleb Lowney

The Shawano Community High School football team is off to a 2-1 start this season, which helped the team get recognized among some of the state’s best. Senior running back Kaleb Lowney has been a big part of the team’s offensive success, both as a runner and pass-catcher.

In the team’s season-opening 27-0 win over Seymour on Sept. 25, Lowney rushed for over 100 yards and finished with over 150 total yards.

WIAA board approves track and field rules, non-school competition accommodations

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control approved two track and field coaches’ recommendations and provided flexibility for non-school competitions during the spring and alternate fall seasons in 2020-21 only at its October meeting Friday.

Shawano boys cross-country team 2nd, girls 3rd at Bay Championship

The Shawano Community High School cross-country teams competed in a unique Bay Conference Championship on Saturday in Seymour.

With only three conference teams in action, the Shawano boys placed second and the girls third.

Due to coronavirus concerns, Bay Conference meets this fall typically only featured two teams running against each other. On rare occasions, there would be three teams squaring off.

Bonduel girls cross-country team 2nd at Don Chase Relays

The Bonduel High School girls cross-country team posted a score of 35 to place second at the Don Chase Relays on Thursday in Weyauwega.

Kara Troxel led Bonduel with a third-place finish in 21 minutes, 29 seconds.

Ashlyn Kurey (22:22) and Kalleigh Schroeder (22:53) placed sixth and 10th, respectively. Kendra Troxel (23:11) took 12th and Breanna Schnell (24:09) 15th to round out the team score.

Bonduel earned its second straight win, downing Seymour on Friday in Seymour.

The Bears are now 2-1 on the season.

Tri-County 6

Marion/Tigerton dominated Tri-County for its first win of the fall on Friday in Plainfield.

The co-op is now 1-1 overall.

Green Bay rolling at quarter point of season

The Green Bay Packers explosive offense has helped the team out to a 4-0 record through a quarter of their 2020 regular-season schedule.

The green and gold’s offense ranks near the top of the league in a number of statistics, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers putting together MVP-caliber play in year two of coach Matt LaFleur’s system and a number of offensive players stepping up when called upon.

The strong play has the offense feeling good heading into its off week.
