Tigerton, Gresham win in shutouts

Sept. 17

Tigerton 3, NEWCHAA 0

Tigerton defeated NEWCHAA (Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschoolers Athletic Association) in three straight sets with set scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-14.

Aaliyah Lederhaus led the Tigers with 14 digs, followed by Jade Selle with 13, Sienna Breaker with 12 and Angel Welch with 10.

Danika Tiller tallied 10 assists.

Presley Stewart-Rolfs notched six kills, while Lederhaus had three and Breaker added two.

Oconto Falls Invitational

The Oconto Falls golf team finished in third place at their home invitational at River Island Golf Course.

The Panthers scored a 403, just ahead of fourth-place Pulaski’s 417. Bonduel was eighth with a 445, and Shawano was ninth with 486.

Marinette won with a 379.

Individual scorers for Oconto Falls were Taylor Miller at 89, Olivia Wagner at 96, Ava Salscheider at 107 and Kyle Thompson at 111. Abby Kluth scored a 119.

Sept. 9

Luxemburg-Casco

Oconto Falls golfers were only one stroke off the lead when they competed against Fox Valley Lutheran and Luxemburg-Casco at Northbrook Golf and Grill.

The Panthers scored a 212, while Fox Valley Lutheran had a 211 and Luxemburg-Casco had a 216.

Oconto Falls senior Taylor Miller was the medalist with a 47. Also scoring for the Panthers were senior Olivia Wagner at 52, junior Kylie Thompson with a 55 and senior Ava Salscheider with a 58.

Junior Abi Clausen shot a 68.

Gresham tops Tigerton in volleyball

Oconto Falls 3, Little Chute 0

Amber Otto reached a career milestone of 1,000 kills as Oconto Falls beat Little Chute 3-0. Scores were 25-12, 25-11, 25-16.

“The student section was rocking it in their constructions theme,” coach Rochell Otto said.

Amber Otto went into the match needing 26 kills to reach 1,000 in her career.

Her coach believed the mark would come in the following weekend tournament, but the player and her teammates had other thoughts.

Sept. 14

Abby Tuma Memorial Tournament

The Shawano Hawks were first in pool play, defeating Oconto and Pulaski in straight sets and Oconto Falls in three sets in the morning.

The Hawks then fell to Brillion in the first round of bracket play in three sets.

The final match of the day was a repeat against Oconto Falls. The Hawks fell in straight sets but gave the No. 9-ranked Oconto Falls team another battle, losing 27-25 and 25-23.

Teams all day struggled against the outside hitter duo of Natalie Bystol and Leah Nordin.

Pulaski soccer team remains unbeaten

Pulaski 5, Menasha 0

The Red Raiders stayed unbeaten on the year with a 5-0win over the Bluejays of Menasha.

Pulaski took a 1-0 lead into halftime after a tight contest in the first 40 minutes. The Red Raiders then opened the second half with three goals in a five-minute stretch to build a comfortable lead that they would not surrender.

Maddox McKeefry and Nolan Pratt each had two goals on the night for Pulaski (7-0-2). Donovan Holderness added a goal and an assist.

Sept. 12

Pulaski 2, Fox Valley Lutheran 0

The Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes fell to the Pulaski Red Raiders 2-0.

Pulaski got both goals in the first half. The first goal came courtesy of Maddox McKeefry unassisted in the seventh minute. Colin Tackmier doubled the lead with an unassisted goal in the 26th minute.

The Red Raiders had several more chances in the second half but couldn’t convert anything for a goal.

Weideman scores 3 TDs in Pulaski’s 35-14 win

Sept. 12

Pulaski 35, Green Bay Southwest 14

A pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns sealed the 35-14 win for Pulaski in Fox River Classic Conference-North action.

Pulaski improved to 1-1 in league play and 2-2 overall; Green Bay Southwest remains winless on the season.

Suring shuts out Gillett

Suring 40, Gillett 0

Suring spread the scoring around in its 40-0 shutout at Gillett. The Eagles scored 16 points in the first quarter and 24 in the second. There was no scoring in the second half.

Michael Pecanas scored first on a 1-yard run, followed later by Grant Thomson’s 1-yard score.

In the second quarter, Kroix Kempka ran the ball in from 27 yards, with Thomson then scoring again from the 1-yard line. Taylor Booth-Stoffregen threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Jake Cornell for the final score.

Xavier wins battle of the Hawks

Xavier 7, Shawano 0

Xavier made fast work of Shawano in its 7-0 shutout.

Ireland Setterman was shut out 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Rachael Carroll lost 6-1, 6-1; Hadley Rettke lost 6-0, 6-1; and Laney Rich was defeated 6-1, 6-0.

The doubles teams didn’t fare any better.

Olivia Dobratz and Claire Weiland were blanked 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, as were Ava Hoffman and Amelia Belter at No. 3. Lana Owens and Madison Miller lost 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2.

The team record dropped to 2-13.
