Newcomers continue to produce in Green Bay

Looking back at the offseason, we saw a number of high profile move teams. Derrick Henry went to the Baltimore Ravens, Saquon Barkley went to the Philadelphia Eagles, Kirk Cousins went to the Atlanta Falcons and Patrick Queen went to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Among the top free agent signings this past offseason though were two Packers players – Xavier McKinney from the New York Giants and Josh Jacobs from the Las Vegas Raiders. Both players have excelled in their new roles on their new team.

Dominance over a familiar foe

It was sweet revenge at Lambeau Field this week, as the Green Bay Packers dominated the San Francisco 49ers, who eliminated Green Bay from the playoffs last season, 38-10.

“It feels good. I mean any time you can get a win, it feels amazing,” said Packers quarterback Jordan Love, on if the win over the 49ers meant anything extra to the team. “Obviously, coming off of the playoff last year, we wanted to see these guys. It feels good – any win feels good.”

Green Bay needs to halt Dolphins’ speed players

Two games down, one to go. The Green Bay Packers are in the midst of their stretch of three games in 11 days.

This week, they’ll have a Thanksgiving night showdown against Tua Tagovailoa and the high-powered Miami Dolphins’ offense.

In a scheduling oddity, this is the second meeting between Matt LaFleur and his friend Mike McDaniel, the first of which came on Christmas Day in 2022, when the Packers won 26-20 to keep their playoff hopes alive.

This time, the two teams are in different places.

This group was supposed to be one of the best in the NFL this season.

At times, they certainly look at it.

When things look easy for them, they look very easy.

When they make a mistake, it seems to kill a drive.

Green Bay returns from its bye week with a trip to Chicago to take on the Bears.

Packers Offense vs. Bears Defense

Green Bay’s offense remains maddening.

At times, they look like world beaters who could score every time they touch the ball.

Other times, they cannot get out of their own way.

In their big showdown against the Detroit Lions, they were penalized 10 times and threw a terrible interception that was returned for a touchdown.

The bye week is over, and the Green Bay Packers will be back in action this weekend against their arch rival, the Chicago Bears.

After an October schedule that saw them catch a couple of breaks, November hit the Packers in the face like a ton of bricks.

In what was the first of four games in 25 days, the Packers were outclassed by the Detroit Lions, losing 24-14 at Lambeau Field.

The Green Bay Packers are 6-3.

If you had told anyone that followed the team a year ago that they’d be 6-3 at this point of the year, they likely would not have believed you.

Through nine games last year, the Packers were 3-6 and plagued by inconsistent play.

Of course, we know what happened next.

The Packers won six of their last eight games plus a Wild Card game in Dallas before bowing out to the San Francisco 49ers.

The end of the season led to optimism for the 2024 season. The Packers clearly saw their window as well.

Green Bay Packers linebacker Lukas Van Ness is the team’s nominee for the NFL’s Salute to Service Award.

The award recognizes NFL players, coaches, staff and alumni who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to honoring and supporting the military community.

Several Van Ness family members served in the military, including his grandfather, who retired as a lieutenant colonel after a 27-year career in the U.S. Army.
